  LYME DISEASE: Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention (3 Contact Hours)

By the end of this course, the participant would be able to:

1. Describe how Lyme Disease is transmitted.
2. Describe the signs and symptoms of the disease.
3. List the CDC-recommended diagnostic studies for the disease.
4. Discuss the current evidence-based treatment recommendations for Lyme Disease.
5. Educate patients regarding the prevention of Lyme Disease and other tick-borne illnesses.

Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and is transmitted to humans by the bite of infected blacklegged ticks.
