This course is based on the CDC Guidelines: Fundamental Elements to Prevent Transmission of Infectious Agents in Healthcare Settings.

By the end of this program, the participant would be able to:

1. Discuss administrative measures that influence the effectiveness of infection control initiatives.
2. Describe safe work practices to prevent HCW exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
3. Explain the role of handwashing in reducing transmission of infection in the healthcare setting.
4. Describe recommended Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to prevent transmission of infection in the healthcare setting.

Instructions:

1. Read the CDC Guidelines with special attention to answering learning objectives.
2. Take the Pre-test.
3. Take the exam. (70% passing score)
4. Complete the course evaluation.
5. Download your certificate.
