Obermeyer to Conduct Cultural Training
13 Aug 2006
Marlene Obermeyer, a cross-cultural trainer, will be conducting acculturation training for incoming Filipino schoolteachers in the Wichita school district.

Twenty teachers from the Philippines are expected to arrive on Friday, August 18. Acculturation support will prepare the teachers for the differences in the US culture and the Philippine culture.

According to Obermeyer, cross-cultural training has been shown to be effective in reducing the stress caused by culture shock, and helps international employees in adjusting more effectively in their personal and professional lives.
